I plan on using this space as a means to keep all my friends and anyone interrested informed in my travels, and as a depository for all the sights and whatever musings i might have at the time. Right now I'm in the early stages of planning my summer jaunt across America. Sounds typically sappy-sweet-soul-searching enough, but i plan on setting a match to the old rule book by traversing our continent atop a bicycle. As of now my trip will take from from tip to tip of the United States: Key West to Seattle. The intention is to see the US from bow to stern, from trunk to it's highest branch, to finish and never look back over my shoulder with a meloncholic eye at something i might have missed. 3,800 miles of unadulterated Americana - all on a two wheeled dragon that wont point east until the front wheel touches ocean.
I'm currently trying to line up the route that my trip will take me. This will probably include alot of couchsurfing in some of the major cities (Jacksonville, Waycross (Buddy! Megan!), Memphis, St. Louis, Denver, etc.) and will definitely be dependant on support from everyone i know in any way possibly (weather and tornado alerts!). Any hints, tips, etc. are more than welcome and more than needed. I'll be keeping a running update as this adventure nears the ETD in May - only five months away - and then once I'm on the road.
Pax,
Austin
